Cyr! Why you so adorable?
(Source: onicyron)
I originally posted this on my blog Barbaric Eyelids. :)
So in my previous blog, I said that I would wait until April for the third book of the Trylle series. Well, I lied. I couldn’t hold it in anymore. HAHA. So I searched around the internet as to where I could find a good e-book copy of the Ascend. When I found it, I said to myself, “Okay, Kars. Read the first five chapters ONLY. Just the first five,” because I had to study for an exam I have later today. Guess what happened? I found my nose stuck to my computer for 4 hours and I eventually finished the book. I really can’t help it. :| Damn, Amanda Hockings made a great series! Never in my life have I ever thought that I could finish a book in less than a day. I’m so proud of myself! *pats self on the back*
Enough of the jibber-jabber about what I did with the book. Lezzzzgooo to the review.
So the third book was about (not in order):
- How they would go into battle and defeat the wrath of Vittra King, who happens to be Wendy’s father (she found out in the second book,Torn).
- Tove and Wendy getting married.
- Loki and Wendy’s love affair.
- How things ended between Wendy and Matt.
- Elora’s death.
- Wendy’s plans for the Trylle kingdom once she is Queen.
In this book, I really liked:
- How very caring and supportive Tove is as a husband to Wendy. They were not really in love with each other but they were really good friends. He was really wise in making his decisions and I really liked him for that.
- The way Wendy quickly matured into a lady and how well she was doing all of her duties.
- Loki. (‘Nuff said. Next!)
- Sara, the Vittra queen. She was really helpful, though she didn’t really say much in any of the books.
- Matt, Duncan and Willa were really great and they were always, always, always there for Wendy.
I hated:
- The Vittra king, Oren, of course. (BOOOOO!)
- Finn. I am a big fan of Finn but he didn’t have to be such a d-bag. I still like him, don’t get me wrong. I just didn’t like the way he acted in this book. I actually didn’t like him that much just in one scene. XD
I didn’t want the book to end but I guess it had to. If it didn’t, it would’ve probably be very uninteresting after a while. My questions from Switch to Torn have been answered in this book. Oye! Although I would’ve wanted Wendy to end with the character that I had in mind but I think it’s okay. I still loved it. She seemed very happy in the end. That’s good.
Rating: I would give it 9/10. This is just me. It’s because I wanted Wendy to end up with someone else. That’s it. HAHA. I definitely recommend the book to all the young adults out there and to those who are into fiction. :)

Hello!
thank you for reaching to my post.
throughout a year after the Great Earthquake and Tsunami of 11th March 2011, I have been to Miyagi and Fukushima including 10km
from the reactors to carry goods, foods, present the showcase of BMX performance
and shoot the reality. and im always thinking of them.I have seen catastrophy that i had never seen before and met many evactuated people.
stills bodies unknown are not buried and missing people there.
these people are not treated as human being even after death.after coming back from France, i found the matter not changed or worse.
we have a lot of problems of the radio activity and people are almost torn down
because of it.people in japan started discussing on where to bury the rubbles detected radio activity.
because of this, people started being against one another.but i want to remember that many people lost their lives and we all were
really sad and had fear on the day 11th March.time passed, and once we settle down in our life, we started forgetting others and
busy with our lives to be protected.we all thought about others even in the worst situation.
and some of those who had victims of the families and friends hope to stay calm
on the day. but many groups gonna make the day as “against nuclear”.
i want to respect those families’ will to stay calm and pray for the victims.on the day , i think that we should pray for the victims and remember the day not to
forget how much we’re sad and thinking of others.so i hope that we would unite our hearts once again and think about the day and others.
we must not forget the day
and we want to see the light for the future.so the action i suggest
